Buddies is provided by Bradford Youth Service and is part of the Youth in Mind partnership.

How can Buddies support me?

Buddies provides one-to-one support with a youth worker to support you with building self-confidence, boosting social skills and giving you a place to be yourself.

Sessions work around your needs so if you prefer to talk whilst walking in the park or kicking a football around a field then the Youth Worker can meet you where you feel most comfortable.

Buddies also has peer support groups where you can meet other young people with similar experiences and access a range of youth projects.

Who can access this service?

  • You must be aged 11-19 or up to 25 with additional needs
  • You must live, go to school in, or attend a GP surgery in Bradford District

What happens after completing my referral form?

Feedback on Buddies

With the recent international crisis, a lot of our students were finding things difficult and found it hard to express their views. Having youth workers in school to help students and enable them to talk about their concerns and worries was outstanding.

Teacher based at a local Secondary School

The opportunities my child has had since starting with Youth in Mind and the Bradford Youth Service has been amazing, they have gone to City Hall, helped run a food bank, spoke to politicians and this time last year they were in hospital. So, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
