Maastricht one-to-one support

Access up to 12-weeks of one-to-one support with a trained practitioner who can help you understand your voices and learn new coping strategies.

Our Maastricht one-to-one support aims to help you manage your experiences of hearing voices. We use The Maastricht Approach; a semi-structured questionnaire that has been designed by people who hear voices and mental health professionals. It can help you gain greater insight into your experiences and form a relationship with voices, resulting in personal coping strategies which can improve quality of life and increase control.

This is a radical approach to working with voice hearers and those experiencing paranoia. We are Bradford’s first Maastricht Approach Centre and work in collaboration with the National Paranoia Network.

This service is for anyone aged 18+ who lives in Bradford or Craven. No diagnosis or referral is needed to access the service. You can request a male or female practitioner on the referral form.

I never believed I could live in harmony with my voices or that opening to someone would help me to be more in touch with my inner self. This therapy has really changed my life, and I am now more confident, happier and able to feel feelings better. Without the Maastricht therapy I would be in a very different place, so I am for ever grateful.

Person supported by Maastricht 1:1 support

Hearing people talk about their voices helps me to understand mine better.

Really like the group, feels relaxed and I don’t feel pressured to talk if I don’t want to.

This is the first time I have ever discussed these issues from childhood with anyone at all.
