Crafting for a cause

A team of local Stampin’ Up! demonstrators put their creativity to work this September, raising £400 in support of Bradford District and Craven Mind.

The fundraising efforts included selling craft kits and hosting a community Charity Craft-Along, as well as several online crafting sessions, where people of all ages and skill levels came together to try their hand at card-making. The events proved not only a success in raising funds, but also a joyful celebration of the power of creativity and connection.

“Crafting is a wonderful way to support mental wellbeing,” said local demonstrator Kylie Henshaw, who helped organise the event. “We know how much calmer and happier we feel when we create together, and we love being able to share that with others while supporting such an important local charity.”

Ruth Andrews, who was also part of the fundraising team, added: “It was a joy to see people enjoying being creative together, chatting & laughing. I truly felt there was a real sense of community – everyone who attended loved it.”

Stampin’ Up!, the global paper craft company that creates the crafting kits, has a mission to bring people together through creativity, meaningful connections, and shared accomplishments – values that align closely with Mind’s work to promote good mental health and tackle loneliness in our communities.

Kylie, Ruth, and other demonstrators in their team, run fun and friendly paper craft classes and events, designed to be welcoming for beginners and seasoned crafters alike. For details of upcoming sessions, contact Kylie at info@hellocrafter.co.uk or Ruth at ruthgetscrafty@hotmail.com

This fantastic fundraiser raised an incredible £400 which could fund 8 weeks of one-to-one support for two young people.
