Bingley St Ives Golf Club raise £1,500 for Mind in Bradford

We have recently received an incredible donation of £1,500 from Bingley St Ives Golf Club!

Each year, the captains and president of the club organise a series of fundraising events to raise money for selected charities. Many of this year’s events were cancelled due to the pandemic, yet thanks to the generous support of members, the club still managed to raise almost £7,000. This money has been split between Mind, Mind in Bradford, The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association and The Brain Tumour Charity.

Anne Flintoff, Captain of the Ladies’ Section, said:

I chose to fundraise for Mind and Mind in Bradford this year as a result of seeing the impact of, and trying to support, friends and colleagues who have suffered from poor mental health. I have seen the difference that good support, such as that provided by Mind charities, can make.

The Ladies’ Section took part in RED January, which involved being physically active on each day in January, and bought raffle tickets to win a wellbeing hamper. Other fundraising activities included charity golf competitions, making masks to sell throughout the year, and a ‘Mind your Golf’ presentation about the impact of positive self-talk on their golf-playing and overall self-esteem.

Anne said:

I have been overwhelmed with the support for our charities this year. I am pleased that, as a club, we have been able to donate £1,500 to Mind in Bradford and an additional £845 to Mind.

Thank you Bingley St Ives Golf Club!
