Extended hours for Guide-Line

We are pleased to announce that our telephone support service Guide-Line is now open until midnight.

Lines are open between 12pm and 12am every day of the year to support people across the district who are struggling with their mental health. And we are working with eight staff from young people’s mental health services to offer more telephone support on Guide-Line while students have to stay at home during the coronavirus outbreak.

We also have two new practitioners on the lines from Sharing Voices so we can offer support in more languages, including Polish, Urdu and Gujarati.

Guide-Line is a district-wide mental health telephone support service which has been running for more than 20 years and previously operated between 12pm and 9pm.

We have an experienced team of staff and volunteers who are fully trained to answer a variety of questions about mental health and wellbeing and offer support and advice. They can also let people know what other services may be of help locally and help access them.

In March, Guide-Line was extended to all ages. People who are struggling with their thoughts and feelings can call the service once a day and the service handles around 9,000 calls per year.

To access Guide-Line, call 01274 594594. You can find out more here.
